IAU to Celebrate its 37th Founding Anniversary

The IAU Deputy for Student and Cultural Affairs has announced that the university will celebrate its 37th founding anniversary on June 12-13, 2019.

According to an ISCA report, Hojjat al-Eslam Ebrahim Kalantari said that the university will hold its 37th founding anniversary on June 12-13 with the presence of officials of the country and university and heads of IAU branches all across the country.

As the largest brick-and-mortar university in the world, Islamic Azad University statute were drawn up, based on which the university would be inaugurated as an establishment of public utility and all of its income would be spent on matters relating to the university.

The first IAU entrance exam was held in February, 1983 with 32 thousand participants in Shahrud, Ahwaz, Tabriz, Tehran, Rasht, Zahedan, Kerman, Mashhad, and Yazd and almost three thousand students were accepted in civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics, chemistry, metal industry, textile, and accounting majors.

Like other Iranian Higher Educational Institutions, Islamic Azad University is active under the supervision of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution. The degrees awarded to IAU graduates are independent and granted with the direct endorsement of the Islamic Azad University.
