Researcher of Kermanshah University of Technology has designed and built earthquake simulator machine in order to familiarize students of civil engineering with the basic concepts of earthquake engineering.

According to an ISCA report, Kamyab Nayeri stated that earthquake simulator machine helps students to comprehend the link between seisms frequency and their dangerousness, also allows them to visualize how energy is stored and released during an earthquake.

As earthquake simulations are generally performed to study the effects of earthquakes on man-made engineered structures, or on natural features which may present a hazard during an earthquake, Nayeri noted that the machine can provide a suitable context for students to understand structural behavior in different conditions as well.
