Iran ranks 6th in Kazakh Informatics Olympiad

Iranian students have succeeded in taking home two gold, one silver and one bronze medal this year in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.


According to Mehr News Agency, South Korea, China, Russia, the United States, Japan, and Iran took first to sixth places respectively. Ali Behjati and Ali Haghani won two gold medals, Amir-Keivan Mohtashami took the silver and Peyman Jabbarzadeh-Ganji gained the bronze medal.

The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) is an annual competitive programming competition for secondary school students and also is one of the most prestigious computer science competitions in the world. The contest consists of two days of computer programming, solving problems of an algorithmic nature.
