IAU Student Becomes Champion in World Transplant Games 2015

Seyyed Jalal Amini, student at Arak branch of Islamic Azad University, won a gold medal in hiking at the World Transplant Games 2015, Argentina.

According to Azad News Agency (ANA), World’s Transplant Games 2015 was held in Mar del Plata, Argentina, with more than 11600 athletes from 58 countries participating.

The performance of Iranian athletes in World’s Transplant Games 2015 has ranked the country sixth in global competitions, while the UK, Argentina, South Africa, Hungary, and the US rank first to fifth.

Before this, Iran had a global record of 23 gold medals won at 2011 Transplant Games in Sweden. The record has now changed to 27 gold medals after the 2015 games.

The Summer World Transplant Games take place every two years where over 1500 athletes representing some 69 countries compete at an extraordinarily high level.
