The Islamic Azad University, General director of international affairs, has given word of IAU’s potential for opening international branches in countries willing to cooperate with Iran.

According to Iran Student Correspondents Association (ISCA), Dr. Hossein Ebrahimi announced that in order to open new IAU branches in potential countries, negotiations have been begun with Sapienza University of Rome and a number of universities in Austria.

He also announced plans for open IAU-run departments in reputable universities, explaining that the plan is to develop ways of strengthening international scientific cooperation with other universities instead of establishing complete new branches in non-Iranian countries.

“Our main goal is to implement joint research and scientific projects, particularly knowledge-based ones. A working group has been formed to analyze previously signed international MoUs.”

“Four IAU international branches are currently active in the Emirates, Lebanon, Afghanistan, and Oxford,” he also noted.
