IAU Shines in FIRACup Open Competition 2015

Robotic teams of Kerman and Nourabad Mamasani branches of Islamic Azad University have excelled in the first Iranian FIRACup Open Competition 2015, hosted by Amirkabir University of Technology.

The ‘Ace Extreme’ team from Kerman IAU succeeded in winning first place by defeating all its opponents in the section of manufacturing robots. Also, the robotics team from Nourabad Mamasani branch gained the third place in the category of mine-detecting robots.

According to Azad News Agency (ANA), Dr. Omid Tayyari, Kerman IAU’s deputy of research and technology, has stated that “in the light of its key role in developing science and research in the country, IAU has made considerable progress in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence during the recent years.”

“In the near future, it is anticipated that robots will take the place of human forces in manufacturing, logistics, and working with small parts”, said a faculty member of Kerman IAU.
