Iranian Researchers Produce Nano capsules with Omega-3 Oil

Iranian researchers have produced Nano capsules with Omega-3 oil in association with an Iranian enterprise active in the production of foodstuff.

According to an Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC) report, Nano capsules containing omega-3 benefit consumers through a combined “coacervation method” which is a simple and cost-effective way to produce micro-structured or nanostructured systems.

Rahimeh Esfahani, the executive director of this project, explained that fish gelatin and Arabic gum were used as the wall in the Nano capsules. Protein – polysaccharide complexes have more advantages than lipid capsules due to their high solubility in water and protection of encapsulated materials.

The Nano capsules will become available after carrying out further tests and obtaining mass production permits.
