IAU to Grant Scholarships to Afghan Students

The president of Islamic Azad University has emphasized IAU's focus on expanding academic research and scientific cooperation with Afghanistan

According to Iran Student Correspondents Association (ISCA), in a meeting with Afghanistan’s Minister of Higher Education and ambassador in IAU, Science and Research branch, Dr. Hamid Mirzadeh announced that IAU is ready to run its branches in Herat and Mazar-i-Sharif and also to launch medical sciences and engineering majors in the Kabul branch.

Dr. Mirzadeh also gave note that the previous signed MoU between IAU and Afghanistan’s Minister of Higher Education needs to be revised and codified based on the recent proposed requests.

He pointed to IAU’s willingness to receiving Afghan professors and utiilizing their knowledge and experiences in IAU’s national and international branches. “We are also able to give scholarships to Afghan students and consider special discounts for them”, he added.

Afghanistan’s Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Farideh Momend expressed her satisfaction of the expansion and development of academic relationships with the IAU and declared that the Islamic Azad University is one of the most valid and reputable Iranian universities in the world.
