IAU & Charity Foundation for Special Diseases Express Readiness to Fight Diabetes

The president of the Expediency Discernment Council has announced that Islamic Azad University and the Charity Foundation for Special Diseases are ready to cooperate for preventing and treating diabetes.

According to Iran Student Correspondents Association (ISCA), in the Strategic Conference on Diabetes held in the IAU Central Organization’ conference hall. Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani reminded the audience of the aims of the nonprofit Charity Foundation for Special Diseases and requested the United Nations and other international communities to assist in providing and procuring drugs for curing diabetes at lower cost and less delay for patients.

Dr. Bagher Larijani, the deputy of educational affairs of Ministry of Health and Medical Education, announced that IAU, with more than 400 branches around the country, is prepared to promote research and scientific cooperation with research centers of all around the world.

Talantbek Batir Aliev, health minister of Kyrgyzstan, stated that developing a culture of study and reading especially of scientific publications is a way of raising people’s awareness and appreciated Iran’s activities in treating diabetes.

Seyyed Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi, minister of Health and Medical Education; Bagher Larijani, the deputy of educational affairs of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education; Dr. Hamid Mirzadeh, the president of Islamic Azad University; Talantbek Batir Aliev, health minister of Kyrgyzstan; Maziyar Doostdar, deputy of Novo Nordisk Company; Bratland, vice president of the World Health Organization in the field of non-communicable diseases; Vajiheh Rizavi, endocrinologist and the head of IMI Association Executives, and also Dr. Kabir, representing the Iran Health Insurance Organization, gave speeches in this conference.
