We Should Be Proud Of the Islamic Azad University

The president of Islamic Azad University and the IAU board of directors visited Iran’s president, head of Islamic Consultative Assembly, and the chairman of the IAU board of trustees and founders on the occasion of new year on Saturday, April 2, 2016.

According to reports from ISCA (Iran Student Correspondents Association), in the visit of IAU officials with Dr. Hassan Rouhani, the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed his hopes to make the best use of the achievements of last year and pointed to the Iranian people’s victory in implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the election of Islamic Consultative Assembly. With reference to Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, naming the year as “Economy of Resistance; Practical Steps and Action”, Dr. Rouhani expressed his hopes that all elements of the government proceed in line with the intentions of the Supreme Leader.

Dr. Ali Larijani, head of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, also spoke of his best wishes on the New Year full of blessings and welfare for the Iranian people and prosperity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The president of Islamic Azad University, Dr. Hamid Mirzadeh, and the IAU board of directors also visited Ayatollah Hashemi, chairman of IAU’s board of trustees and founder, who first voiced his felicitations on the beginning of the year 1395 on the Hijri solar calendar and then his hopes that IAU continues to develop its research, scientific, and technological services to the country.

Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani appreciated the effective actions and progress of the IAU and declared that: “during domestic and foreign calls and meetings, we have been told repeatedly we should be proud of the Islamic Azad University; because in just 30 years, a university with so many facilities and such a high level of knowledge is indeed a monumental achievement.”

The chairman of the IAU board of trustees and founders also pointed to the potentials, capacities and academic capabilities of the university and called for launching a knowledge-based science town by IAU for the advancement of petrochemistry in the coast of Persian Gulf.
