Student of Bojnord IAU Set To Climb Himalayas

A student of Islamic Azad University, Bojnord branch, is on Iran’s national Omid team for climbing the Himalayas.

According to reports from ISCA (Iran Student Correspondents Association), Hessam Mohammadi, electrical engineering of Bojnord IAU, will be working with Iran Mountaineering & Sport Climbing Federation and travelling to Georgia to climb Mount Kazbek, one of the major mountains of the Caucasus located in the Kazbegi District of Georgia and North Ossetia (Russia). He was taken on board after participating in nine sports camps over the past year.

Mohammadi has the conquering of Mount Damavand, Mount Lakmer, the Sabalan northern glacier, the Haft Khan Glacier in Alam-Kuh, the Taftan Volcano, Oshtoran Kuh under his belt, among others. He is also a pioneer of Slacklining -the act of balancing on a suspended length of flat webbing that is tensioned between two anchors similar to slack rope walking and tightrope walking- in his city, Bojnord.
