IAU to Run Int'l Website/ 6 Foreign Languages in IAU Offices and Branches

The head of International Affairs of Islamic Azad University spoke of the university's mission in focusing on other languages alongside English.

According to IAU public relations, Dr. Hossein Ebrahimi stated that two IAU offices and an international publication center were opened in Germany and in cooperation with the University of Essen and the Polytechnic University of Milan, to develop research, educational, and academic collaboration.

Dr. Ebrahimi also announced the launch of the IAU international registration and admission website and explained that Iranians and Farsi-speakers from other countries apply to study at IAU using this system. Based on a directve from the IAU Board of Trustees, students will be able to continue their higher education at the masters and PhD level without participating in an entrance exam. Applicants who meet the conditions outlined in this website will be admitted in the fall semester.

“In collaboration with the eCampus, all the courses and educational activities will be held online and IAU offices will only organize and hold final exams,” He explained.

Dr. Ebrahimi also noted that in line with the statements of Supreme Leader, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, in addition to English, other languages such as Arabic, German, Italian, French, and Russian will continue to be taught at the masters and PhD level. He also added that opening international offices will allow for the possibility of jointly-run language courses between universities inside the country and world-renown academic centers.

The head of IAU International Affairs highlighted the development and promotion of the Persian Language as one of the main objectives of the university and stated that in this regard, programs for teaching Parsi to non-Persian speakers have been planned and will be offered in all IAU international branches and offices.
