Lobuche is a Nepalese settlement close to the Khumbu Glacier. It shares its name with two relatively close main peaks, Lobuche Far East and Lobuche East. At 6,145 meters, Lobuche East is 26 meters higher.
According to an ANA report, Jabbari's climbing program started on October 15 from Lukla Airport, which has been named the world’s most dangerous airport, and after passing stations and accommodations, they arrived at the 6119 meter Lobuche peak in October 25.
Mt. Everest climbers have used Lobuche Peak as a warm up climb for many years. The superb views from Mt. Lobuche make it one of the most quintessentially-popular Himalayan treks, despite its difficulty level being a bit more challenging than that of nearby Island Peak.
