The president of Islamic Azad University has stated that the main strategy of IAU is to provide educational facilities for all Persian speakers in the world.

According to IAU public relation, on the sidelines of the 2016 ASAIHL Conference and during his visit with Iran's ambassador in Malaysia, Dr. Hamid Mirzadeh explained that IAU is strategically expanding its international ties to further cooperate and interact with foreign countries.

He explained that in the first phase, the university plans revolve around providing educational facilities in a full-time and part-time participatory manner for all Persian speakers including Iranians, Tajiks, and Afghans, and noted that in order to stay and keep up, faculty and students must be significantly active in international academia.

“We are looking to launch an office in Malaysia to develop our academic cooperation with South East Asian countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, and even China. This scientific diplomacy serves well to link countries together,” he added.

In her visit with Dr. Mirzadeh, Mary Yap Kain Ching, deputy minister of Malaysia higher education, welcomed the cooperation with IAU and stated that the available statistics and analytics, especially in articles and research activities, represent the university’s qualitative development and the presence of the university in an international arena shows its international and global careful planning.
