S & R IAU is Iran’s 2nd Green University

On the occasion of the national research and technology week, the country's green universities have been introduced with the presence of the head of Environmental Protection Organization, Masoumeh Ebtekar.

ANA quoted Sadreddin Ali Pour, the chief advisor and general director of Research and Development Office of Environmental Technologies, as stating that the country’s top green universities have been selected based on an MoU signed between the Iranian Department of Environment and the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

University of Zanjan ranked 1st and Isfahan University of Technology tied with Science and Research IAU for 2nd place. Qazvin University of Medical Sciences and Bu-Ali Sina University took 3rd place together.

A “green university” is known as one that carries out its activities with the vision of “sustainable development.” It also represents the undertaking of an important responsibility by higher education for the development of society.
