S & R IAU Student Creates Cream to Reduce Blood Sugar

A student of Islamic Azad University, Science and Research branch, has made a cream from the wild gourd that makes helps with reducing blood sugar.

According to an ISCA report, a chemistry student of S & R IAU, Farzaneh Farzadi created this cream from the wild gourd (Citrullus Colocynthis) after purifying and identifying its active ingredients and studying its effects on reducing blood sugar in diabetic male mice. Even after the cream is no longer in contact with the body, blood sugar remained at normal levels. Results showed that the significant reduction of blood sugar was the result of topical application.

She added that the outcomes can be applied in preventing effects of oral administration of certain medicinal plants. This study was successful in a short timeframe of only three days and does not create any skin sensitivity.
