According to an ISCA report, Mohammad Baqer Kiani stated that in line with the policies designated by Dr. Mirzadeh in developing and strengthening the university’s international activities, several business meetings have been held so far and Sanandaj IAU has hosted many academic delegations from Iraqi Kurdistan universities.
“During our recent trip to Sulaimaniya and Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan, the necessary arrangements for developing and strengthening bilateral cooperation were discussed, for which 3 cooperation MoUs were signed with Sulaimani, Erbil, and Raparin Polytechnic Universities. They mostly emphasized exchanging faculty and students and holding joint academic courses,” he said.
Dr. Kiani also noted that during the meeting held with Dr. Yusuf Goran, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Iraqi Kurdistan, he announced the Iraqi Kurdistan readiness for developing all-round cooperation with Islamic Azad University.
Launching an IAU branch in this province was another plan of this trip, “some good meetings were also held with the head of the Polytechnic University of Sulaymaniyah and it has been planned to run an IAU branch in this city with the cooperation of Sulaymaniyah Polytechnic University,” he said.
The head of Kurdistan IAU also added that Persian Language and Literature Center will be run in Sulaymaniyah to provide training tailored to the people’s needs. He also explained that suitable conditions for developing and strengthening the universities cooperation is expected.
