IAU Acting President Meets with University Officials

The acting president of the Islamic Azad University met with the board, general directors, and officials in IAU headquarters.

According to IAU public relations, the IAU acting president, Dr. Ali Mohammad Nourian, appreciated the efforts of Dr. Mirzadeh, the former IAU president, and stated that owing to his work, IAU has made significant progress. He also reminded that the presence of Dr. Velayati, as a prominent researcher and scholar, is an asset that can elevate IAU towards its ambitious goals.

Dr. Nourian gave a brief overview of his administrative and academic background in various fields and positions, including the deputy administrator of climate change affairs in the ministry of roads and transportation, advisor to the president on meteorology and climate change, deputy to the head of the EPO, among others. He was faculty member of Tarbiat Modares and Sharif University of Technology and Institute of Meteorology, and in the international arena, he was the deputy, member of the Executive Council, and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

The IAU acting president stated that in line with Ayatollah Khamenei’s emphasis on the quality of academia and their promotion and the importance of being effective in the country, the region and the Islamic world, the IAU shall strive to proceed toward quality development, science and technology.

He addressed the members of the Board of Directors, managers and officials and stated that with cooperation, we will make IAU, which is in a good position regarding its student body, laboratory and workshop facilities, the first choice of the Iranian youth.
