IAU Can Deliver Knowledge to the Most Remote Parts of the Country

The induction ceremony of Dr. Ali Mohammad Nourian, as the acting president of the Islamic Azad University, has been held with the presence of the head of IAU board of trustees and directors, Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati, and deputies and heads of IAU branches.

In this ceremony, Dr. Velayati appreciated the efforts of Dr. Mirzadeh, Dr. Jassbi, and Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani efforts and their notable roles in establishing and developing the university, stating that one of the prominent features of IAU which makes it globally unique is how all strata of the society participate in running and financially supporting the institute, ISCA reports.

Dr. Velayati spoke of development of the university in the furthest and most deprived areas of the country and how it has facilitated higher education throughout the nation. The head of IAU board of trustees and directors emphasized the importance of correct prioritization in administering and allocating the resources of the university, and his proposed 40% increase in research budgets from 184 million dollars to 308.3 million dollars, and how this is important in absorbing talented students and providing them with facilities such as scholarships.

Dr. Velayati also asked the newly-appointed acting president to design the grounds to create a relationship between the university and industry, such as factories so the IAU can contribute to supplying their requirements. He furthermore spoke of the neccesity of training qualified technicians.

The IAU acting president Dr. Nourian pointed to the IAU as the largest mortar and brick University in the world, and noted that the Supreme Leader has always been emphasizing the role and significance of IAU in elevating culture and human dignity, which is a sign of its place in the country.
