S & R IAU Hosts Representatives of University of Geneva

An academic delegation from University of Geneva visited research and scientific sectors of Science and Research Islamic Azad University aiming at creating relationships with Iranian universities, exchanging students and faculty and cooperating in research.

According to an ISCA report, Dr. Pierre Willa, the Director of the International Affairs Office of the University of Geneva, was accompanied by Dr. Hejazi, professor of Geneva University as they talked about developing academic cooperation with the head of the Environment and Energy Department at Science and Research IAU, Dr. Majid Abbass-pour and representatives from IAU headquarters.

In this meeting, Dr. Abbass-pour explained the activities of the faculty and its cooperation with national and international organizations and also emphasized mutual collaboration in resolving smog and haze, water management, smart cities, public health and resiliency.

The University of Geneva is a public research university which offers more than 290 types of degrees and more than 280 Continuing Education programs covering a wide variety of fields: exact sciences, medicine, humanities, social sciences, law, etc. Its domains of excellence in research include life sciences (molecular biology, bio-informatics), physics of elementary particles, and astrophysics. UNIGE is also host and co-host to six National Centers of Competence in Research: Planets, Swiss Map, Chemical Biology, Affective Sciences, Synaptic Bases of Mental Diseases and LIVES-Overcoming vulnerabilities in a life course perspective.
