Iran Switches Currency from Rial to Toman

Wednesday, July 26, 2017 - 00:52

Iran has changed its national currency back to the toman in a move that could boost the value of the country’s national currency against the US dollar.

According to an ISCA report, the currency was called the toman until the 1930s and most Iranians still refer to it by that name.

One toman would be worth 10 rials and switching to the toman means that a zero would be removed from price figures.
