Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution Officially Approves Dr. Rahbar's IAU Presidency

Iran's Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution has officially approved and admitted Dr. Farhad Rahbar as the president of Islamic Azad University.

According to ISCA, the committee for selecting universitiy heads was held at the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution with the presence of Mohammad Farhadi (Iranian physician, politician and Minister of Science, Research and Technology), Seyyed Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi, (Iranian ophthalmologist, professor at Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Minister of Health and Medical Education), Hojat-al-eslam Mohammad Mohamadian, head of the supreme leader representative body, and Mohammad Reza Mokhber Dezfouli, secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution.

Dr. Rahbar competency was discussed in the meeting and the entire members vote him to be the president of the largest brick-and-mortar university in the world.

Dr. Farhad Rahbar, born in 5 October 1959 in Semnan province, Iran, is an economist, academic, member of IAU board of trustees and the former Chancellor of University of Tehran. He received his PhD in Economics from University of Tehran. Previously, Rahbar was the head of the Management and Planning Organization of Iran. He has also worked as the Deputy for economic affairs at the Ministry of Intelligence.
