Isfahan IAU Student Shines in World Para Athletics Championships

A student of Isfahan IAU and member of Iran Paralympic Athletics Team has won the gold medal of the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships in the UK.

According to an ISCA report, Alireza Mokhtari Homami thrilled the spectators at Olympic Stadium in London, and recorded a throw of 8.35 meters in the final of men's shot put F53 competitions, snatching the gold medal. The US athlete came in as runner-up.

The 2017 World Para Athletics Championships is the 8th edition of the event, which was formerly known as the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics World Championship prior to 2017, and features 213 medal events.

The event started in London on July 14, and conclude on July 23.
