Tehran to Host 2017 IOI

Tehran will be the host of the 29th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2017) from July 28 to August 4, hosting 85 countries from around the world.

According to the IOI official website, this two-day competition, will be directly preceded and followed by a non-competition day.

Based on the IOI regulations, the main objectives to be accomplished by the IOI include discovering, encouraging, bringing together, challenging, and giving recognition to young people who are exceptionally talented in the field of informatics.

The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) is an annual international informatics competition for high school students from various invited countries, accompanied by social and cultural programmers.

The logo of IOI 2017 is designed based on ancient Persian artwork, called mo’arragh, used to decorate mosques, bazaars, and other buildings in Iran. Designed by Mr. Mahdi Mousavian, the logo was ranked first among about 200 logos pitched in a public contest.
