Dr. Velayati:

IAU Must Provide Higher Education Facilities Throughout Iran

The head of Islamic Azad University board of directors and trustees, Dr. Aliakbar Velayati has participated in the welcoming ceremony for Iranian teams participating in RoboCup 2017.

According to an ISCA report, Iranian teams managed to scoop 16 titles in the biggest and most reputable robotic competitions in the world held this year in Nagoya, Japan from 27th to 31st of July.

In this ceremony, Dr. Velayati mentioned Iran’s position, ranking 2nd in this technological tournament and stated that in fact this competition is a world cup with RoboCup theme and both fundamental science, mathematics and physics, as well as new sciences like robotics, influence the future of the world.

Dr. Velayati continued that in order to prevent braindrain, "we must try to a provide suitable environment for the activity of the academic elite" and he emphasized that IAU will certainly not hesitate to support other academic fields in international events.

The head of IAU board of directors and trustees finally appreciated the efforts of the IAU Deputy of Research and Technology, Dr. Morteza Mousakhani, coaches of the robotic teams, the Qazvin province governor, heads of Tabriz and Ilkhchi University, audience and journalists, who with their participation showed their passion for country progress, improvement of the academic and the importance of the success of Iranian youths.
