Over 8600 Foreign Students Studying at IAU

The director general of Islamic Azad University, International Affairs, has stated that in order to admit more foreign students, the university is activating its border university branches.

In his interview with Azad News Agency (ANA), Dr. Hossein Ebrahimi announced that planning to expand IAU international activities has been one of the main policies of Islamic Azad University in recent years and fortunately, the process of admitting foreign students is developing well.

Dr. Ebrahimi explained that based on 5-year program which was developed in 2016, the university will be admitting 50 thousand students by the year 2021 (1400). The first step that has been taken was providing electronic registration via the website at in English and Arabic in order to remove the need to travel to Iran for registration and initial arrangements.

The next step was environmental advertising, according to Ebrahimi. The method for admitting non-Iranian students has been printed in Persian, English, Arabic and Kurdish language and sent to various places. IAU is also using the help of overseas agencies that are active in dispatching students.

The IAU General Director of International Affairs, finally noted that the IAU owns an international elite professors database which is to be completed.
