Bojnord IAU Student Conquers Pamir Mountains

A student of Islamic Azad University, Bojnord branch, could conquer the Lenin Peak, the third highest peak in Pamirs, a mountain range in Central Asia at the junction of the Himalayas with the Tian Shan, Karakoram, Kunlun, Hindu Kush, Suleman and Hindu Raj ranges.

According to an ANA report, Hessam Mohammadi in accompany with Iran National team could conquer the 7,134-meter peak in 10 days and raised the Iranian flag above this summit.

This 8-member team was headed by Hossein Moghadam, and included Hessam Mohammadi (North Khorasan Province), Pedram Ghasemi, Soroush Paknejad (Tehran), Davoud Chaghousaz (Khuzestan Province), Abdol-rahman Ghazagh (West Azerbaijan Province), Mehdi Ramezani, and Haniyeh Davoudi (Mazandaran Province).

Lenin Peak or Ibn Sina (Avicenna) Peak, rises to 7,134 metres (23,406 ft) in Gorno-Badakhshan (GBAO) on the border of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, and is the second-highest point of both countries.
