Kermanshah SAMA IAU Student Snatches Bronze in Weightlifting Taipei 2017

A PE student of Kermanshah SAMA Technical and Vocational School, Kia Ghadami, has been awarded a bronze medal at the Taipei 2017 Summer Universiade.

According to an ANA report, Kia Ghadami succeeded in receiving bronze medal in the Men's 105 kg and rounded out the podium with his total score of 381kg.

Rim Jong Sim claimed yet another weightlifting gold medal for North Korea and collected an overall score of 260kg after performing lifts of 115kg and 145kg in the snatch and clean and jerk stages respectively.

Belarus' Darya Naumava took a silver on 240kg while bronze went to Yao Chi-Ling of Chinese Taipei, who finished on a score of 236kg.

Egor Klimonov set a Universiade record of 215kg in the clean and jerk phase of the event as he went on to finish on a total of 383kg, which was enough to seal first place.

Rustem Sybay of Kazakhstan occupied silver medal position on 382kg while Thailand's Sarat Sumpradit completed the podium on 381kg.

In this evening's final weight category, Armenian Simon Martirosyan prevailed in the men's 105kg competition on a combined score of 401kg.

The weightlifting competitions started on 20 August and ran through 25 August which 52 countries have entered nearly 300 competitors to vie for the Universiade titles and medals in Taipei City.
