Ilkhchi IAU Participates in WCN 2017

The XXIII World Congress of Neurology (WCN 2017) has been taken place in Kyoto, Japan on September 16 – 21 2017, cohosted by the Japanese Society of Neurology and Asian and Oceanian Association of Neurology.

According to an ISCA report, Dr. Hamed Taghipour-Farshi, research deputy of Ilkhchi IAU presented his article with the title of “Assessment on selectivity of multi-contact cuff electrode for recording peripheral nerve signals using Fitzhugh-Nagumo model of nerve excitation” in this congress which results of this research showed that Fitzhugh-Nagumo equations could model the nerve excitation accurately and could be used in computer simulation for studying nervous systems.

More than 300 renowned invited speakers from all fields of neurology lectured on latest developments in their fields of expertise - among them three Nobel laureates: Prof. Edvard Moser from Norway, Prof. Susumu Tonegawa (Japan/USA) and Prof. Shinya Yamanaka from Japan

The timely Congress motto was “Defining the Future of Neurology”. The Congress provides an impressive overview of the achievements of modern neurology, a medical discipline which will gain more importance not just in view of demographic developments
