Fifth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games: Shirvan IAU Student Strikes Bronze

A sportsman from Shirvan IAU has brought honor to the country through laudable performances at the 5th edition of Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Turkmenistan, and received bronze of the tournament.

According to an ISCA report, Kurash wrestler and Shirvan IAU student , Ghanbarali Ghanbari was awarded a bronze medal in the men’s minus 66-kilogram weight category.

Previously, he pocketed gold for Iran, after beating Hao Cheng Chan from Chinese Taipei 4-1 in the final beach kurash competition of the men’s minus 66-kiloram class at Patong Cluster in the 2014 Asian Beach Games.

Ghanbari stated that he is getting himself prepared for Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games which will be hosted by Indonesia in 2018.

The 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which is the 5th edition of the continental tournament, opened in the Turkmen capital city of Ashgabat on September 17, and finished on September 27.
