IAU Defeats South Korea at the 11th Asian Water Polo Clubs C’ship

The water polo team of Islamic Azad University has beaten South Korea at the 11th edition of Asian Water Polo Clubs Championships.

According to an ISCA report, IAU water polo team could defeat South Korea with the result of 31-3 and placed 2nd while the team Saipa lost the game against Kazakhstan representative, Astana, with the result of 7-12 and placed third in this tournament.

In water polo, the playing area is to be 30m by 20m and the pool must be a minimum of 2m deep. Each team have 13 players, with one goalkeeper and six field players participating at any one time. Within the four quarters of eight minutes playing time, players are to score the ball into the opponents net as many times as possible, and the team with the higher score at the end of the game are the victors of the match.

The 11th Asian Water Polo Clubs Championship was held in 6th November 2017 to 12th November 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand.
