The name of seven Iranian researchers have been placed in the latest edition of the Highly Cited Researchers List, produced by Clarivate Analytics.

According to an ISCA report, the list was assembled on the basis of authors’ recent production of “Highly Cited Papers”—those that have enough citations to be ranked in the top 1 percent of articles published in the same year and field.

The names of seven Iranian scholars in this list are: Mehdi Dehghan. Professor of Applied Mathematics, Amirkabir University of Technology, Davood Domiri (Domairry) Ganji. Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Babol Univ. of Technology, Mofid Gorji-Bandpy of Babol Noshirvani University of Technology, Dr. Mohsen Sheikholeslami, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Babol Noshirvani University of technology, Ali Kaveh. Professor of Structural engineering, Iran University of Science and Technology, Taher Niknam of Shiraz University of Technology and Shahram Rezapour of Azerbaijan Shahid Madani University.

The list features more than 3,000 researchers, in 21 fields, who produced a “notable” number of highly cited papers in Clarivate’s Web of Science database over the period 2005-2015. Authors are selected on the basis of “consistent production” of highly cited papers – defined as those that rank in the top 1 per cent by citations for field and publication year – to allow early career researchers to be considered as much as established names.
