AUT Researchers Design Solar Simulator Device

Researchers from Amirkabir University of Technology have designed a solar simulator device in AM 1.5G standard terms.

According to an ISCA report, Behrouz Bazri, executor of the research plan, explained that the device could provide the possibility of various investigations and designing new experiments under sunlight and in controlled conditions.

He noted that investigating new synthesized substances and their efficiency in sunlight for producing energy is among the scientific community subjects in the field of chemistry, physics and materials.

Bazri stated that the device can be applied in the field of optically active materials, renewable energy and specifically in producing hydrogen from the water which is affected by sunlight.

He also added that outcomes of this study may demonstrate the possibility of introducing a new class of telluride cocatalyst heterocathode system as an alternative to noble metals in facilitating the water splitting reaction.
