Shahr-e Kord IAU Researchers Investigate the Effects of Honey & SNPs on Kidney Stone Prevention

Researchers of Islamic Azad University, Shahr-e Kord branch, have carried out an investigation about the effect of honey and silver nanoparticles (SNPs) on blood biochemical factors changes in Kidney stone disease.

According to an ISCA report, in this research, mice were given different proportions of natural honey and spherical silver nanoparticles and after 30 days, blood’s biochemical parameters such as blood urea nitrogen, creatinine and albumi, which are the important factors in kidney stone disease, were analyzed.

The researcher, Parisa Ghasemi, explained that due to the strong antioxidant properties of honey, blood biochemical parameters in kidney stone disease will be improved but silver nanoparticles would increase urinary calcium oxalate which leads to stone formation.

The research was done by Parisa Qasemi and Hossein Sazegar from Shahr-e Kord IAU and Noushin Naghsh from Falavarjan IAU.
