Shahrud IAU Student Becomes Champion at Asian Indoor Athletics C’ships

A student of Shahrud Islamic Azad University presented sparkling performances and claimed Iran’s first medal at the eighth edition of the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in Iran.

According to an ISCA report, Iranian high jumper Sepideh Tavakoli and got a silver by registering 1.80 meters in the women’s final contest.

The tournament has reportedly brought together 360 male and female athletes from 22 countries, including China, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The eighth edition of the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships started on February 1, and finished on February 3, 2018.
