IAU Officials Express Condolences Over Plane Crash in Iran

The head of Islamic Azad University, board of trustees and directors, Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati and the IAU president, Dr. Farhad Rahbar sent a message of condolences over the crash of the passenger liner ATR-72 of Aseman Airlines in the central province of Iran Isfahan.

According to an ISCA report, the IAU officials expressed their deep condolences over the numerous victims, including three IAU colleagues, Khalil Ahangaran, Dr. Seyed Reza Fatemi Talab and Dr. Ahmad Charmian, as a result of the crash of a passenger aircraft in Isfahan province of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Aseman Airlines plane which departed at 7:55 a.m. local time (11.25 p.m. ET Saturday), crashed in Kohangan village, 120 kilometers (74 miles) from Semirom town, authorities told Iran's Fars News Agency.
