UAE IAU and University of Dubai to Expand Academic-Research Cooperation

The heads of Islamic Azad University, UAE Branch and University of Dubai have paid a visit to discuss research and academic cooperation.

According to an ISCA report, in this meeting, the President of the University of Dubai, Dr. Eesa Mohammed Bastaki stated that this university belongs to Emirates Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He explained that, the University of Dubai was established in 1997 by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) to address skills and qualifications gaps in the workforce and to support the government's human resources development programs in the private and public sectors.

He continued that in order to support educational development in Dubai consistent with the Dubai Vision 2020, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, granted UD in June 2006 a three (3) million square feet plot of land in the Academic City to build its new campus.

As he said, this university offers variety of business, law, engineering and IT programs as well as exchanging students and faculties and carrying out mutual research projects with reputable European and American universities.

Established in February 1982, Islamic Azad University is one of the fundamental and lasting achievements of the higher education system of Iran, aiming at promoting knowledge and culture, providing specialist human resources necessary for the country, establishing suitable grounds for people to actively participate in developing knowledge and research.

In this meeting, the head of IAU, UAE Branch, Dr. Vaseghi announced that the university is ready for scientific and research collaboration with world reputable universities and the University of Dubai as well.

The meeting was held with the presence of the head of IAU, UAE Branch, Dr. Vaseghi, deputy of research and technology, Dr. Mahmoud Taheri, head of Computer Faculty, Dr. Malakouti and the President of the University of Dubai, Dr. Eesa Mohammed Bastaki.
