A student of Islamic Azad University, Science and Research branch has developed eco-friendly smart glass technology with the ability of controlling light absorption.

According to an ISCA report, Forouzan Faghiri investigated ‘smart glass’ technology which could make curtains and blinds obsolete and provide an instant toggle between light and dark for windshields and roof panes.

The researcher explained that the glass in able to change from transparent mode to opaque mode which could be utilized in eco-friendly windows, windshields, roof panes and building envelopes, absorbing light and heat in the winter and reflecting it away in the summer.

As she said, smart glass technology effectively helps controlling and optimizing energy consumption in buildings and public places.
