3 Iranian Universities Among Top 250 Young Universities in 2018

Three universities in Iran have been ranked among the world's best young universities of 2018.

According to an ISCA report, The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings list the world’s best universities that are aged 50 years or under. The 2018 ranking includes 250 universities, up from 200 in 2017.

Babol Noshirvani University of Technology, ranked top among all Iranian universities with a history of 50 years or less, with a ranking of 55th. The second-best young university in Iran is Isfahan University of Technology (101-150). University of Guilan is also ranked 201th-250th this year.

The team of data experts evaluates world-class universities against 13 separate performance indicators, covering the full range of a top university’s essential areas of activity: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is the world’s best young university for the first time in 2018, Switzerland’s École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, which topped the list for three years in a row, has dropped to second place, while Nanyang Technological University in Singapore holds on to third place.
