Qazvin IAU MRL Becomes Most Honorable Team in Montreal RoboCup2018

Students at Qazvin Islamic Azad University have received 16 titles in the most prestigious world Robocop 2018 in Canada, Montreal and became the most honorable team in the event.

According to an Iranian RoboCup National Committee report, the international RoboCup event has been running since 1997, and sees robots of all different shapes and sizes compete at five-a-side soccer. RoboCup 2018 this week saw a number of various teams, from the most notable universities and educational institutions, head to Canada to take part.

In RoboCup Rescue Simulation league, Qazvin Islamic Azad University team, MRL, won the first prize and became champion in this competition. The team also runner-up in Major competition, the ‘TeenSize’ soccer contest, in small size humanoid robot but ranked first in RoboCupTechnical challenges.

Qazvin IAU MRL Team also ranked second in Rescue Robot League and received the title of the best robot in moving objects. The team also took the 3rd place in Industrial League.

The academic caravan of Islamic Republic of Iran also battled out in different categories, and took top honors in various leagues:

Iran Atomic Energy High School, ranked 3rd in RoboCup 2D Soccer Simulation League

Danesh and Ghalam High School teams ranked 1st in Rescue League and received the title of the best hardware design

Avicenna High School Team ranked 3rd in The Rescue CoSpace Simulator

Isfahan took the 2nd position in Small Size Robot Soccer League, Hexagonal Team presented the good team spirit and Salam High School team received the title of best presentation as well in this tournament.
