Khomeyni Shahr IAU Researchers Produce 3D Printed Nanostructured Scaffolds

Researchers of Islamic Azad University, Khomeyni Shahr branch have succeeded to design and produce 3D printed nanocomposite scaffolds.

According to an ISCA report, the head of Khomeyni Shahr IAU Young Researchers & Elite Club, Farshid Agha Davoudi stated that the device is able to produce prosthetic limbs using biocompatible nanocomposite materials.

He added that the technology can be used for dentistry, orthopedics, medical education and scientific simulations applications. The materials, used in prosthetic limbs, have been approved by the World Health Organization and can pass nutrients, biosphere and blood from themselves.

Agha Davoudi declared that ears, nose, bone, artificial artery and hard and soft tissues of the body can be designed, produced and replaced a missing body organ with high precision and low cost.
