Researchers of Technology Incubator Center of Zahedan Islamic Azad University, have designed and built solar-powered go-karts in order to open the first solar powered karting circuit in Zahedan, Iran.

According to an ISCA report, Zahedan IAU engineers made solar go-karts using engineering and science concepts of renewable and solar energy as the organizing technology.

DC motor has been applied in these go-karts which its required energy is supplied with solar panels and urban electricity so they are placed in the category of hybrid vehicles.

The solar panels, used in these products, can convert 10 to 15% of the energy hitting them from the sun into power. The drive system also can limit speed from 1 to 100 km / h.

Being eco-friendly, preserving natural resources and reducing 80% of power consumption are some advantages of solar powered vehicles.

Researchers are trying to develop Zahedan karting circuit as the first solar powered karting circuit in Iran.
