Mianeh IAU Students Shine in at 2018 Asian Games

Students of Mianeh Islamic Azad University have claimed 2 gold and 1 silver medal in the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia.

According to an ISCA report, Mir-Hashem Hosseini won the fifth gold medal for Iran on the fourth day of 2018 Asian competition in Indonesia in Taekwondo with a fabulous 17-to-11 victory over his Chinese rival.

Hosseini grabbed the gold in the -63kg category, making it the second gold medal for Iran’s Taekwondo team and adding to its two silvers and one bronze.

Hosseini was 5 to 4 down in the first round, but made an astonishing comeback in the second round to go 8-6 ahead. He kept the momentum in the last round to outclass his Chinese opponent Zhao Shuai 17 to 11 to snatch the gold.

Saeid Rajabi snatched a gold medal in men’s taekwondo +80kg. He defeated Lee Seung-hwan from South Korea 6-3 in his first match and beat Chinese Sun Hongyi and Ruslan Zhaparov from Kazakhstan respectively to reach the final match. Rajabi defeated Uzbekistan’s Dmitriy Shokin 3-2 in the final match and claimed a gold medal.

Amirmohammad Bakhshi suffered a close 12-10 defeat against South Korean taekwondo fighter Lee Dae-hoon in the men's 68kg division and won a silver medal in this competition.
