Universities’ International Relations Will Strengthen Political Diplomacy

The chancellor of Tarbiat Modares University has stated that the presence of international students in Iranian universities will have long term diplomatic interests for the country due to the various job positions they may take in their own countries.

In his interview with ISCA News Agency, Dr. Mohammad Taghi Ahmadi said that international relations of universities and higher education centers require skilled procedures leading to diplomatic expansion to provide high-efficient higher education system.

He added that visiting Iranian universities as well as becoming familiar with various cultures, technologies and achievements are some priorities of scientific diplomacy.

As Dr. Ahmadi noted, universities’ international relations, sabbaticals and exchanging faculties and students are some factors helping foreign students and elites of advanced as well as neighboring countries to know Iran to choose it for higher education courses.

He declared that Tarbiat Modares University has run an international unite to admit foreign students to develop its international relations with other higher education centers in different countries. The university also signed cooperation MoUs with Northern Europe, neighboring countries such as Afghanistan, also has international academic relations with university of Japan.
