StudyBlue, Flash Card App For Memorizing Facts

Smartphones can be a great study companion with apps that help students meet deadlines, do homework and take notes.

StudyBlue is a flash card app which is a helpful tool for memorizing facts. This simple app allows students to take a picture, or use one already on their phone, and then write a description, a title and more. They can even add audio to their flash card.

The real power of StudyBlue is that students can share flash cards with classmates or teachers. Better yet, the app lets them search flash card sets uploaded by students and teachers around the world, so they can probably find a premade set by looking up keywords or searching by school.

StudyBlue is the largest crowd sourced study library, with over 400 million flashcards, notes and study guides from students. It is free for Android and iOS users.

StudyBlue was founded by two students at the University of Wisconsin–Madison as The Class Connection in 2006. The company was renamed StudyBlue in 2009. As a start-up company, StudyBlue raised approximately $14.8 million in funding through January 4, 2013.
