Ayatollah Amoli IAU Student Conquers Mount Damavand

A student of Ayatollah Amoli Islamic Azad University has conquered Mount Damavand, Iran's highest peak and Asia's highest volcano.

According to an ISCA report, Farzad Naghizadeh, could successfully conquer the highest volcanoes in Iran and Asia, Mt Damavand.

The readiness of participant’s physical and mental is very critical considering the height of the mountain to be climbed reaches 5,610 meters or 18,406 foot, placing it as one of the highest mountains in the world.

Damavand is located around 60 kilometer, north-east of the city in the Eastern side of the Lar National Park where it has been the surrounding land.

The volcano is considered to be dormant, though it does have an active fumarole system. It is located 66 km NE Tehran and 70 km south of the Caspian Sea. It is the 12th most prominent mountain in the world.
