IAU Gets Ready to Form University League

The head of Iran National University Sports Federation of Iran has stated that Islamic Azad University has more willing to compete strongly in University League.

In his interview with ISCA News Agency Dr. Mohammad Reza Dehkhoda stated that universities pay attention to sport fields, the same as other social and cultural activities and due to the IAU high number of students, this university plays significant role in this field across the country.

Dr. Dehkhoda spoke of the lack of university leagues in the country, and noted that Islamic Azad University has begun forming university leagues in order to promote students empowerment through sports and make them healthy and cheerful, strengthen feelings of friendship and understanding among students all over the country, create international links between students, demonstrate the capabilities and talents of Iranian students to all nations in order to gaining honors and increasing self-esteem and promote objectives of International University Sports Federation (FISU) and Asian University Sports Federation (AUSF) among academic community.

The head of N.U.S.F.I.R also emphasized that in line with following the policies of International University Sport Federation (FISU), Iran National University Sports Federation is planning to hold National Olympiad in the form of a league next year, so the first step will be choosing higher education top 5 teams to compete, then in condition of receiving positive feedbacks, other universities will be invited.

As he declared, FISU's vision is to lead the University Sport Movement, where the leaders of society are positively influenced by their University Sport experience.
