Italy to Host 30th Summer Universiade

The 30th edition of international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation will be held in one of the most famous Italian cities in the world: Napoli.

According to FISU official website, around 8,000 athletes and officials will arrive in the Neapolitan city and the rest of the region to compete in 18 sport disciplines over 12 days, from 3-14 July 2019.

The event slogan is "To be Unique". Besides for its world famous pizza, Napoli has popular traditions and very ancient culture that allows it to be a UNESCO World Heritage site and is well known as “the city of the sun and the sea.”

The compulsory sports of the Summer Universiade are archery, artistic gymnastics, athletics, basketball, diving, fencing, football, judo, rhythmic gymnastics, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball and water polo.

For the Napoli 2019 Summer Universiade the optional sports are rugby sevens, sailing and shooting sport.
