IAU Among World Top Universities in CWUR

The Founder of Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) has announced that based on Center for World University Ranking (CWUR), twelve Iranian universities are among world top ones.

According to an ISCA report, Jafar Mehrdad stated that CWUR, which is headquartered in the UAE and been released since 2012, is reporting the ranking of 1000 universities based on seven indices.

He noted that the 2018-2019 ranking system has reviewed 62 universities among which were 12 Iranian ones. Based on the results, Islamic Azad University (371 points), Tehran University (461 points), Tehran University of Medical Sciences (547 points), Sharif University of Technology (592 points), Isfahan University of Technology (642 points), Amirkabir University of Technology (689 points), Tarbiat Modares University (576 points), Iran University of Science and Technology (760 points), Shiraz University (857 points), Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (872 points), Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services (966 points) and Shahid Beheshti University (992 points).

CWUR uses seven objective and robust indicators to rank the world's top 1000 universities:

1) Quality of Education, measured by the number of a university's alumni who have won major international awards, prizes, and medals relative to the university's size (15%)

2) Alumni Employment, measured by the number of a university's alumni who have held CEO positions at the world's top companies relative to the university's size (15%)

3) Quality of Faculty, measured by the number of academics who have won major international awards, prizes, and medals (15%)

4) Research Output, measured by the the total number of research papers (15%)

5) Quality Publications, measured by the number of research papers appearing in top-tier journals (15%)

6) Influence, measured by the number of research papers appearing in highly-influential journals (15%)

7) Citations, measured by the number of highly-cited research papers (10%)
