IAU Specific Plan for Food Security & Nutrition

The president of Islamic Azad University has announced on re-engineering a research, educational and technology services plan in the field of agriculture.

According to IAU public relations, Dr. Mohamad Mehdi Tehranchi met with heads, deputies, faculty members and some staffs of Lahijan, Rudsar and Langroud IAU branches in his trip to Gilan province.

In this meeting, Dr. Tehranchi stated that training native experts with highly in-demand skills and know-how is the university’s main mission, in this regard, we can create a platform for developing knowledge-based employment as well.

Dr. Tehranchi emphasized that to resolve the university's challenges, first of all we must believe in ourselves as a member of a sociable university which is totally dedicated to people.

As he declared, the plan of smart regional development has been placed on the agenda in order to strengthen IAU’s role and coordinate the activities of the university in line with the capacities of a region.

Dr. Tehranchi continued that since the capacities and advantages of Lahijan city are different from Kerman or Zahedan, the activities of the university should be appropriate with the characteristics of that region, so courses such as sociology, economics, law, management, and engineering must be tailored to the benefits and capacities of each region.

Referring to the importance of the agricultural issues, Dr. Tehranchi said that the university has launched a re-engineering educational, research and technology services plan to strengthen agriculture major.
